QUESTION: Can I place hazardous materials such as asbestos in my skip bin?
ANSWER: NO. These controlled materials need to be disposed of by specialised licensed teams.
We do not accept controlled hazardous waste materials in our skip bins.

QUESTION: Can I fill my hired skip bin above the rim?
ANSWER: NO. We must ensure the safety of our loads while in transit and any debris that cannot be contained inside the dedicated skip bin cover will not be taken by us from site.  In such instances we can deliver you a second skip bin and allocate the first to be emptied once the spill over has been removed.

QUESTION:
Can you deliver my skip bin to a difficult to reach / access site?
ANSWER: Our experienced drivers will work with our clients to ensure the safest and most accessible
location for your skip bin delivery.  If they determine that access is too restrictive or hazardous they will provide you with solutions where possible to make the site fit for delivery or provide an alternative that will make the delivery and pick up safe and convenient for all.

If you have a specific concern or enquiry please get in touch as we may be able to provide you with some feedback over the phone.

QUESTION: Are your prices a fixed fee total?
ANSWER: NO. Prices vary depending on the contents & cost of dumping them.
The final cost of your skip bin charges which are invoiced upon emptying will depend on several factors which include: the contents of your skip bin, and linked to that - how much your skip bin waste weighs (charged per tonne by the council waste management facility)

Please see our pricing page for specific fee information.

Waste Disposal Guidelines

Not all waste is created equal and the local Whitsundays waste facilities provide set fees for varying waste products. Here are some ways you can maximise your savings and avoid unnecessary fees:

What you CAN dispose of in a mixed waste Skip bin:
# C & D Mixed Waste - General collection & domestic household waste
# C & I Mixed Waste - General collection and Industrial waste

Your hired Eco Skips General Waste Bin can be filled to the waterline - but not above. We will not carry skip bins that have been overloaded and have waste spilling over them as this can fly off in transit and cause dangerous consequences to our drivers and other road users.

We are limited by weights for both site & council accessibility reasons aswell as road limits. As a general guide, there is a 4 tonne maximum load allocated for the smaller 6m3 sized skip bins. 3 tonne maximum allocated for the larger 10m3 skip bins. If you are in doubt and believe you will have heavier waste disposal needs please reach out so that we can work out the best solution for your particular needs.

If you think you may go over the allocated weight and size - just let us know and we can arrange a second skip bin for you.

TIPS: THINGS TO AVOID

Some household items are not permitted to be placed into a general mixed waste skip bin (such as chemicals, lead acid and lithium batteries and controlled substances such as asbestos).

Others should be avoided if possible as they will add unnecessary weight to your bin load which will then be incurred as an added fee. For those items that you would prefer to be taken in your general waste skip bin - just know they may add weight that you need to be aware of.

These include:

General Whitegoods

Tyres with rims

Mattresses

Recyclables such as steel and concrete

Others should not be added due to their hazardous nature:

Controlled chemical waste products

Asbestos containing waste products

Mixing heavy recyclables with general waste in your hired Eco Skips bin may result in higher disposal fees for you as the client and we want you to have the most affordable & convenient experience possible!

# STEEL WASTE - Hire a bin for scrap metal only
We urge clients to dispose of steel waste separately as these are recyclable and will incur a lower fee for you as charges for tip weights will not be added to your bill for their disposal

# CONCRETE WASTE - Hire a bin for large concrete waste
We urge clients to consider disposing of concrete waste separately as these are recyclable and will incur a lower fee for you as weights will not be added to your bill for their disposal

Both concrete and steel can be taken to the local depot by trailer if you have only small amounts. Otherwise, for large amounts - we recommend hiring a separate dedicated skip bin to save you the hassle and any unnecessary charges.
